This project involved restoring the interior woodwork throughout the Bonham Hotel. The entire entrance hallway is finished with old wood, which we were tasked with bringing back to life using the traditional French polishing method.
The process was quite extensive, starting with the removal of the existing lacquer using specialised chemical strippers. We then repaired numerous mouldings and door panels.
A custom stain colour was selected in consultation with the client and applied by hand to ensure a perfect match. Finally, the restored surfaces were sealed with two coats of acrylic lacquer for durability and a refined finish.
